Should J.C. Penney have acted differently? Why or why not, and if so, how?
I think that JC Penny should have acted differently, by asking their customers if they would like the shirt to be removed. This could have caused them to look less like they were pretending they did not even have the shirt in the first place. What if someone was going to buy that shirt and the next day it was gone. I sure would not be happy! Most of all I think they should have just stayed away from the whole idea in the first place. Not very smart thinking…in my opinion. What do you think? feel free to comment. Thanks!
What message do you think the t-shirt did send?
Most people sounded mad because the shirt sounded like it was saying:
- Girls were not smart
- Guys are smarter than girls
- Girls are just thinking about looks not smarts
In my opinion, if you are a designer, you should be prepared for these kind of comments. What do you think?
